Client: The National Geographic Society has inspired people to care about the planet since 1888. It is one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational institutions. Its interests include geography, archaeology, natural science, and the promotion of environmental and historical conservation.
Overview: National Geographic’s MapMaker Interactive is designed for teachers and students to quickly create their own high-quality maps and easily share them with others. Specifically designed with 6th-10th graders in mind, it allows users to create geotours, a group of geographic locations with multimedia (text, photos, or videos) assigned to points of interest.
Solution: Acted as an interaction and visual designer for this project. Created mood boards, conceptual and functional wireframes as well as a visual style guide.
